Information:
The Massey Toastmasters Club meets every Wednesday lunch time from 12 noon to 1 pm in room SGP2.01, Sir Geoffey Peren Building at the Manawatu Campus. Are you afraid to stand up and speak your mind? If you are then you’re not alone. Public speaking is the number one fear held by most people. But you can conquer this fear by joining the Massey Toastmasters Club. The main emphasis for each participant is to learn by doing. Toastmasters teach the fundamentals of public speaking in a friendly, supportive, and relaxed environment. From a set of manuals given to each person you will learn speaking skills with other people, who are there for the same reasons as you. You will gain confidence by presenting: 1. Written speeches. 2. Impromptu speaking. 3. Using vocal variety and body language to add impact to your speeches. 4. Using and improving your listening skills. Keep in mind that your progress in the course depends on the effort you put in. If you prepare for each meeting and participate actively, you will enjoy improved speaking skills and increased self-confidence. Visitors to the club are most welcome to attend three meetings free of charge before deciding to join. We can supply you with the membership cost.
