We would like to think that everyone will be able to progress through their academic studies without ever encountering problems.
The reality is that this isn’t always the case – students will unfortunately encounter a large and complicated array of issues ranging anywhere from academic to administrative problems – some of which they may be incapable of resolving on their own.
This is where your students’ association comes in:
One of our most important responsibilities is ensuring that student problems / grievances are treated equitably, consistently and in a timely manner. Over many years we have built up a range of processes and support for students in need – your Student Executive Committee representatives, Class Representatives, participation in University decision – making forum, consultation mechanisms that are there to ensure adequate student engagement – all with one thing in mind – and that is sorting out your issue effectively and efficiently as possible.
The Academic Grievance Procedures pages contain a LOT of information – much of it reference material that spells out your rights as a student.
However, in all cases your first point of contact should be the MUSA Advocacy Coordinator, who is there to explain, support and advocate on your behalf.
